Lidar in wind tunnels

Project description:

The aim of the study is to investigate and develop the potential of using optical remote sensing lidars for wind measurements in wind tunnels and connect it with aerodynamic, wind engineering, and wind energy applications. Various signal processing schemes and beam scanning methods for shorter ranges including but not limited to the possibility of moving the whole continuous-wave Doppler lidar telescope by a steerable platform such as a robotic arm for remote sensing of flows on the meter-scale with sampling volumes of a few centimetres will be investigated. This PhD is hosted by DTU Wind Energy under the supervision of Dr. Mikael Sjöholm and co-supervision of Professor Dr. Jakob Mann.
