The project driving this PhD, aims to encourage and develop initiatives related with lidar devices and one of this projects is the OpenLidar, which aims to create a collaborative community about lidar device and provide a framework for this cooperation. My goal is to understand uncertainties associated with the hardware design and data processing of lidar and share this knowledge with the wind community.
The main idea is to assess these error sources and quantify them as one single total error, so we can develop and implement an uncertainty model for the OpenLidar framework; validate these models and implement them as an open-source online platform for calculating lidar uncertainties.
