To improve the detailed characterization of wakes, especially in new wind farms equipped with turbines using very large rotor diameters, the aim is to develop an approach to enhance the accuracy of long-range measurements. Beside practical aspects like the pointing accuracy over long distances and disturbances by the dynamic inclination of the measurement platform, the project aims to address methodological developments like data filtering and recovery as well as wind field reconstruction and wake modelling. This also extends to a data exchange from an extensive measurement campaign in an offshore wind farm cluster.
