CFD and lidar

Project description:

The main goal of my PhD project is to improve computational wind models in order to better predict the wind resource in complex terrains. This goal is to be achieved through the application of a scanning Lidar, which allows the validation of wind simulations by its volumetric measurements of the flow. The integrated approach of Lidar measurement and wind simulation enhances the wind understanding, since mountainous areas induce physical processes that result in a complex flow and a challenge to atmospheric models in accurately simulating it.
