Floating lidar

Project description:

The overall research goal of my PhD project is to investigate how floating LiDAR technology, installed on a frequently running ferry connection, should be applied in an optimal way to assess offshore wind resources and site conditions, both in combination with mesoscale flow modelling and the use of satellite remote sensing data. Amongst other things, this scope includes the definition of the optimal LiDAR setup and configuration for this type of application, an integrated data concept considering the different data sources as well as the development of a comprehensive uncertainty assessment.
